Model #52D-EXCherry is one of the most popular hardwoods used in our humidors. However special mention should be made to the unique and very rare Quilted Cherry veneer which we purchased several years ago. Cherry very rarely has any unique grain figure unlike Curly Maple. Even Curly Maple is only seen in 1-2% of all maple timber cut and sold annually. So Quilted Cherry - it actually should not even exist!
The owner of the veneer supplier where we bought it told us that it is a "Once in a lifetime log". It is 11 feet long and 12" wide and is quilted from head to toe! This amazing figured hardwood is a rarity indeed and we feel fortunate to have it in stock. The veneer sheets themselves are just as impressive as the finished humidor. I should probably take a piece and frame it! One thing is for certain - there will never be another log like it and you will never see a Quilted Cherry humidor from any other maker.
