Model #53CMIKoa grows only on the Hawaiian islands and mainly on the big island of Hawaii. It occurs from the sea level to the top of the volcanic mountains. It is from these high exposed elevations that the best figured curly or fiddle back wood is obtained or rather was obtained. All logging and stump removal has been banned in recent years due to limited amount of Koa available. Koa is excellent for musical instruments, especially guitars and ukuleles. We use Koa only in veneer form and only the best curly figure. Only standing dead or fallen trees are now available for sale and only 3-5% are figured. For this reason Koa is very difficult to obtain in lumber or veneer and is very expensive. Its golden tan color along with the flaming curl make this one of our most attractive handmade humidors.
This beautiful humidor is our top of the line model and is available by special order only. It is custom built and usually takes 30 days to finish. It has Curly Maple edge trim Abalone corner inlays and a Semi-Gloss finish
